Arnel Dayrit, Director of Bands

Mr. Arnel Dayrit is a native of Houston, Texas, and a graduate of Pasadena High School and the University of Houston, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Music in 2011. While at UH, he performed with the Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Spirit of Houston Cougar Marching Band, and Percussion Ensemble, appearing at PASIC, CMEA, and WGI.
His teaching career includes roles as adjunct band director, private instructor, and drumline technician at several Houston-area schools, where his groups earned multiple “Best Percussion” awards.
In 2013, Mr. Dayrit joined Dulles High School as Associate Director of Bands and Director of Percussion. Over the past decade, he has helped build a tradition of excellence, discipline, and pride within the program.
Outside the classroom, he enjoys exploring new music, mentoring young educators, and staying active in the Houston arts community. His passion for music education and student success continues to inspire his work at Dulles.
Spencer Clayton, Assistant Band Director

Mr. Clayton, a native of San Antonio, TX, graduated from Claudia Taylor Johnson High School and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Houston in 2015. At UH, he performed with the Symphonic Winds, Jazz Ensemble, Spirit of Houston Marching Band, and chamber groups, as well as with Drum Corps International’s Crossmen (2009) and Santa Clara Vanguard (2012–2013).
For the past seven years, he has worked as a private instructor, marching band technician, and freelance musician in Houston, mentoring students of all levels. At Dulles High School, Mr. Clayton teaches the marching, concert, and jazz bands, encouraging students to challenge themselves and grow as musicians.
Outside the classroom, he remains active as a performer, bringing fresh, real-world experiences into his teaching.
Nick Camacho, Percussion Director

Mr. Camacho is a proud native of Sugar Land, TX, and is entering his 8th year of teaching. A 2012 graduate of Dulles High School, he went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Houston in 2018. During his time at UH, he was an active and dedicated performer with both the renowned Moores School of Music Symphonic Winds and the Spirit of Houston Marching Band, experiences that further strengthened his musicianship and leadership skills.
As an educator, Mr. Camacho brings a diverse range of teaching experience, including marching band instruction, private lessons, percussion ensemble direction, and masterclasses for students in grades 6 through 12. He is passionate about cultivating musical excellence, discipline, and creativity in his students while fostering a supportive and motivating learning environment.
Drawing from his own journey as a student and performer, Mr. Camacho is committed to inspiring the next generation of musicians. He looks forward to continuing to share his love for music, performance, and personal growth with all of his students.
Avery Cart, Color Guard Director

Ms. Cart, a native of League City, TX, discovered her passion for color guard at Clear Falls High School. She went on to perform four seasons in Drum Corps International, including three with Genesis—where she served as Color Guard Captain—and aged out with Phantom Regiment as a World Class Finalist in 2025. She also performs with Undaunted Winter Guard at WGI events.
As an educator, she has taught and choreographed for several 5A and 6A programs, including Angleton, Dickinson, and Clear Lake High Schools, helping groups earn state and championship recognition.
Ms. Cart is excited to share her experience and enthusiasm at Dulles, fostering a positive and dynamic environment for the color guard.
