Join the DHS Band Boosters

Our Mission

The Dulles Band Booster Club builds a strong, supportive community for the DHS Band through volunteerism, fundraising, and family involvement. We provide resources and opportunities so every student can grow as a musician, leader, and member of our band family.

Ways To Help

Volunteer: We need you! Help with meals, uniforms, equipment, events, and more—year-round opportunities available. Sign up via email or the DHS Viking Band SignUpGenius.
Note: FBISD requires an annual background check (after June 30).

Volunteering is one of the best ways to support your student and be part of the DHS Band Family. You’ll meet other parents, make lasting memories, and help keep everything running smoothly—it truly takes a village!

Fundraising: Fundraisers help keep band fees among the lowest in the area. Boosters cover about 50% of expenses—your participation helps cover the rest.

Become a Member: Joining the Boosters is easy: simply fill out this Google Form and pay your membership fee via Square.

Boosters FAQ

1) What does our Booster Club do and why do we need it?

Our Booster Club supplements the financial and manpower needs of running the award-winning DHS Band. The funds we raise from membership help cover costs and provide activities, clinicians, costumes, equipment and scholarships to the band.

Band activities/expenses are essentially covered by:

  • FBISD/school funds – cover items like staff salaries, instruments, initial purchase of uniforms, and bus transportation
  • Parent Fees and the Booster Club – supplement costs not covered by FBISD/school by a combination of both contributions and parents’ time/help.

Without this critical organization, some Band activities would not be possible due to lack funds and/or volunteers.

2) Do I need join the Booster Club in order to volunteer my time/help?

No—but membership directly supports the band.

3) I want to be involved, but it seems like everything is covered. Am I really needed?

YES! Yes! New volunteers are always needed as families graduate.

4) I work during the day, what can I really do?

you are not alone! We understand that everyone’s time, energy, and finances are stretched. Only you know what works best for your family. The most important thing is to contribute when you can—and to feel comfortable saying no when you can’t.

Many Booster Board members and Band parents also work full or part-time. That’s why most volunteer opportunities happen in the evenings or on weekends—such as Half-Time Kick-Off, Rock-A-Thon, tailgates, contests, or helping with the Equipment/Field Crew. There are also flexible options you can do at home, like uniform repair, Spring Program ad coordination, and more. Reach out to the Membership VP to find opportunities that fit your schedule, and keep an eye out for sign-ups in your email.

We hope every family will take part in supporting the Band. Volunteering not only helps our students succeed, but also gives you the chance to build friendships with other parents and share in the joy of seeing the Band achieve its potential.

5) I’m afraid to sign-up for something if I don’t really know the time commitment involved. Whom can I ask?

Any Board member or Committee Chair will be happy to speak with you and give you information about what each event or role entails.

6) I still have other questions, whom can I ask?

Many of your questions will be answered by Mr. Dayrit’s weekly email.

The Boosters will also communicate with parents through the following methods:

  • Band App – please register to the Band App
  • Facebook – Dulles HS Viking Band
  • Instagram – _vikebytes
  • Sign-Up Genius – Parent Volunteer Opportunities
  • Monthly Booster meetings – These meetings are an excellent opportunity to meet other Band parents and develop your own network of friends to communicate with directly. The schedule for these meetings can be found in the Band Calendar.
