Our Mission
The Dulles Band Booster Club is committed to fostering a strong and supportive community that celebrates the talents and achievements of the Dulles High School Band. Through dedicated volunteer service, active fundraising, and strong parent, alumni, and community involvement, the Booster Club works to provide resources, encouragement, and opportunities that enrich the band program. Our goal is to ensure that every student has the support they need to grow as musicians, leaders, and members of a thriving band family.
Ways To Help

We need all our parents to get involved. we need volunteers to serve meals for various band events, uniform fittings, equipment moving, event planning, and much more. opportunities are available all year! Check your email for signup links or visit the DHS Viking Band Signup Genius page.
Volunteering is one of the best ways to support your student and be part of the DHS Band Family. You’ll meet other parents, make lasting memories, and help keep everything running smoothly—it truly takes a village!
FBISD requires volunteers to complete a background check each year (after June 30). Please be sure to submit yours if you haven’t already.
Fundraising: The various fundraising events that we do keeps DHS’s band fees one of the lowest in our area. The Boosters pay for approximately 50% of our band expenses throughout the year, and we rely on fundraisers to help cover the remaining 50%. Boosters FAQ
1) What does our Booster Club do and why do we need it?
Our Booster Club supplements the financial and manpower needs of running the award-winning DHS Band. The funds we raise from membership help cover costs and provide activities, clinicians, costumes, equipment and scholarships to the band.
Band activities/expenses are essentially covered by:
- FBISD/school funds – cover items like staff salaries, instruments, initial purchase of uniforms, and bus transportation
- Parent Fees and the Booster Club – supplement costs not covered by FBISD/school by a combination of both contributions and parents’ time/help.
Without this critical organization, some Band activities would not be possible due to lack funds and/or volunteers.
2) Do I need join the Booster Club in order to volunteer my time/help?
While we’d love everyone to join, and the dues play an important part in our ability to fund activities for the students, you do not need to be a Booster Club member in order to volunteer. However, by joining the Booster Club, you are helping and supporting the hard-working students who put so much time and effort into an activity they love. Volunteering is an added bonus where you get to see who your kids hang out with, interact with some of the greatest kids at Dulles High School, and build friendships/connections with other parents. Volunteering your time is a very valuable contribution. All help is appreciated!
3) I want to be involved, but it seems like everything is covered. Am I really needed?
YES! Every year there is always a critical need to find new parents to step in and help as “graduating parents” leave. Watch for volunteer opportunities through Sign-Up Genius. If you aren’t receiving volunteer emails by the start of school, contact the Membership Vice-President or any officer of the Club or Committee Chair to talk about opportunities to share your time and talents. We may have your contact information wrong.
4) I work during the day, what can I really do?
ou are not alone! We understand that everyone’s time, energy, and finances are stretched. Only you know what works best for your family. The most important thing is to contribute when you can—and to feel comfortable saying no when you can’t.
Many Booster Board members and Band parents also work full or part-time. That’s why most volunteer opportunities happen in the evenings or on weekends—such as Half-Time Kick-Off, Rock-A-Thon, tailgates, contests, or helping with the Equipment/Field Crew. There are also flexible options you can do at home, like uniform repair, Spring Program ad coordination, and more. Reach out to the Membership VP to find opportunities that fit your schedule, and keep an eye out for sign-ups in your email.
We hope every family will take part in supporting the Band. Volunteering not only helps our students succeed, but also gives you the chance to build friendships with other parents and share in the joy of seeing the Band achieve its potential.
5) I’m afraid to sign-up for something if I don’t really know the time commitment involved. Whom can I ask?
Any Board member or Committee Chair will be happy to speak with you and give you information about what each event or role entails.
6) I still have other questions, whom can I ask?
Many of your questions will be answered by Mr. Dayrit’s weekly email.
