Executive Board positions explained
Each year, as some of our amazing parents graduate out of the program, we look for new enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join the Dulles Booster Board. If you’re passionate about supporting our students, the band, and making a difference, we invite you to explore the roles and responsibilities of each position below:
President
As President, you’ll be the leader and spokesperson for the Booster Club. You’ll preside over meetings, ensure everything runs smoothly, and be an ex-officio member of all committees. You’ll also maintain order during meetings using Robert’s Rules of Order and keep the club on track toward achieving its goals.
1st Vice President – Fundraising
The 1st VP takes charge of all fundraising projects and activities, bringing creative ideas to the table and helping boost our financial support. This role also serves as the President’s right-hand, stepping in to lead in their absence. If you have a passion for fundraising and event planning, this role is for you!
2nd Vice President – Memberships & Volunteers
The 2nd VP is responsible for keeping membership records up to date and actively recruiting new members. This person also coordinates volunteers for events and tracks their hours. If you love engaging with people and helping them get involved, this is the role for you!
3rd Vice President – Communications
As the Communications VP, you’ll manage the club’s website and social media accounts, making sure everyone is informed and up to date. You’ll also collaborate with the President to send out regular updates and announcements to parents and the public. If you’re a natural communicator with a knack for digital media, this role is for you!
Secretary
The Secretary ensures all meeting notes and minutes are accurately recorded and filed. You’ll also assist the President with various tasks and keep things organized behind the scenes. If you’re detail-oriented and love keeping things in order, this role is a great fit!
Treasurer
The Treasurer (and Assistant Treasurer, if appointed) will be the guardian of the club’s funds, ensuring all financial transactions are documented and reported properly. You’ll manage all disbursements and provide regular financial updates to the board. You’ll also submit an annual financial report to the school and oversee audits to ensure everything is in line with accounting standards. If you have a good head for numbers and love staying on top of finances, this is your role!
We’d love for you to join us! These roles are vital to the success of the Dulles Band Program.
